St. Patrick's Day Healthy Swaps ☘️
Who else loves St. Patrick's Day? It reminds me so much of my childhood when my Irish grandfather would make his famous soda bread and corned beef and cabbage. Well now, as an adult and health coach, I still want to enjoy the holiday and even carry on the tradition for my kids, but hey, maybe we can make it a little bit healthier? (maybe, anyway 🫣)
☘️Traditional Swap: Corned Beef & Cabbage
Here is a Healthier Irish corned beef and cabbage recipe. This dish is deemed healthier because it is brined "homemade" and not made will all the additives of a store bought brine. Also, you can serve it with cauliflower in addition to some potatoes. Remember carbs aren't the enemy!

☘️ Traditional Swap: Irish soda bread
You can make this a tad healthier with a Paleo friendly whole wheat Irish Soda bread and the recipe doesn't mention it, but I'd add in some flaxseed for extra fiber and omega's.

☘️ Traditional Swap: Potato Soup
Healthy Swap: Cauliflower and leek soup I think speaks for itself you can cut down on carbs with cauliflower if you are looking for a lower carb option. Still creamy and delicious!

☘️ Traditional Swap: Green Beer
Healthy Swap: Healthy Shamrock Shake Smoothie! Now this I can't wait to make. It's a on popular McDonald's shamrock shake except it has none of the artificial sugar, sweeteners or other junk (for lack of a better word).
This one gets its green color from spinach, creamy from the greek yogurt and sweetened with mint extract. Yes, please!
